Dear Taglit - birthright Participant,

During December, 2007 we will begin production of a unique, hour-long documentary movie dealing with the problems and challenges facing the Jewish Diaspora and the role of Birthright in addressing them. The finished movie will be broadcast on Israel’s leading commercial television station – Channel 2.

At this time, we are searching for Taglit-birthright participants willing to allow us to document their experiences, sharing their thoughts and feelings with the camera as they prepare for the journey to Israel and, of course, during the journey, itself. We believe that taking part in the movie will add another, unique layer of enjoyment to your Birthright experience.

If you think that you have something to say about your Jewish experience and would like to talk about your feelings as you travel through Israel, we would like to hear your voice. If you’re not camera-shy and think that sharing your impressions with the movie’s viewers might be important, thought provoking, inspiring – and even fun -- then you’re the kind of person we’re looking for. Whether you classify yourself as a “believer” or a cynic, we want to know what’s on your mind.

If you’re selected to participate in the movie, we will come to your home community before you leave for Israel, documenting your story together with your family and friends – and learning about your Jewish orientation. Afterwards, we will join you during your journey through Israel in order to witness and share your experiences.

If you’re interested in taking part in this important project, please fill in the accompanying questionnaire, answering as many of the questions as you can in as much detail as you desire. Then attach a photograph of yourself and return the photograph and questionnaire to me at taglitbi@gmail.com.
